Hi, I’m Adam K. Freeland—an attorney, cattleman, and sci-fi writer. My life is split between Houston’s courtrooms, the pastures of East Texas, and late nights shaping the universe of Order is Violence.
Somewhere between earning my Biology degree and completing my Juris Doctor, I began writing a story that refused to stay small. What started as a single idea grew into a multi-book saga—a layered world where faith, technology, and power collide.
Today, Order is Violence has become more than just a story. It’s a cycle of books that explores what happens when civilizations test their limits, when human survival pushes against systems built on control, and when ordinary people face impossible choices.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually:
1: Walking fence lines and tending cattle
2: Planning rotations and talking shop with family
3: Or in a courtroom, navigating the high-tech battles of modern law
This balance between gritty, dirt-under-the-fingernails work and legal precision has shaped the voice of Order is Violence.
I believe science fiction isn’t just about the future—it’s about revealing the truths of today. My stories weave together:
1: Theology & philosophy
2: Law & technology
3: Human flaws & resilience
The result? A dystopia that feels a little too real—because it’s rooted in the struggles we already face.
The fastest I ever read through a book was Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton. I don’t think I even looked up until I finished the last page.
